About this journal

Anglo Saxonica is a multidisciplinary journal that publishes original and innovative research on a variety of issues relevant to the study of English(es), broadly understood both as language and as all the literatures and cultures of the English-speaking world. In so doing, Anglo Saxonica also promotes dialogue among English-speaking geocultural areas. Its editorial policy promotes the thematic cohesion of each volume, open to different academic approaches on current issues in English and American studies, including original research articles, reviews, interviews and selections of creative writing. The journal also publishes special issues with a particular thematic focus that are guest-edited by leading scholars in the field.

All the works submitted, in English or in Portuguese, are subjected to initial appraisal by the editors and, if found suitable for further consideration, to double blind peer review by independent expert referees.


Anglo Saxonica is indexed in Scopus, ERIH PLUS and MLA Directory of Periodicals and is hosted at the University of Lisbon Centre for English Studies.

 

The publication of articles is funded by national funds through the FCT - Foundation for Science and Technology, I.P., under the projects UID/ELT/00114/2019, UIDB/00114/2020 and UIDP/00114/2020.

  • Call for papers

    Anglo Saxonica is an open access multidisciplinary journal, with a long-standing reputation in the field that publishes original and innovative research and promotes dialogue on a variety of issues relevant to the study of English language, literatures and cultures of the English-speaking world and geocultural areas. Its editorial policy embraces different academic approaches on current issues in English and American studies, includes original research articles, reviews, interviews and selections of creative writing. The journal also publishes one special issue per year with a particular thematic focus, guest-edited by leading scholars in the field. Authors are not charged for submissions/publications.

    Anglo Saxonica is indexed in Scopus, ERIH PLUS and MLA Directory of Periodicals and is hosted at the University of Lisbon Centre for English Studies.

     

    Submission guidelines:

    Submit articles, at any time, electronically through the website (research articles in the fields of literature, culture, language, inter-arts/intermedial studies, reception and translation studies, book reviews on recently published scholarly books, interviews and creative writing).

    Please follow the guidelines on the Anglo Saxonica website when preparing your manuscript. Failure to do so may delay processing your submission.

    Special Issues

    Please submit proposals for special issues via email directly to the Editors. Submissions should include full contact details, a title, and a Call for Papers and/or a Table of Contents, as well as a production schedule.
